Physicians for a Healthy California’s (PHC) CEO and President, Lupe Alonzo-Diaz, was recently elected to the Board of Directors for One Community Health, a nonprofit community health center in Sacramento.
Since it started in 1989, One Community Health’s mission has been to create a healthier Sacramento by increasing access to care for all members of our community, regardless of age, gender, ethnicity, orientation, or ability to pay.
The health center uses a “medical home” model of care, offering preventive services, routine checkups, immunizations, and specialty care for acute and chronic conditions.
"Health access and health equity go hand in hand. We must strive for both to achieve patient-centered, community driven, culturally, and linguistically dynamic care," Alonzo-Diaz says. "I am proud of the work that One Community Health does and am honored to be on the Board."
Alonzo-Diaz will serve the remainder of a two-year term, ending in January 2026.
