Each year, Physicians for a Healthy California (PHC) recognizes the outstanding achievements of California's health care professionals. We celebrate the commitment, compassion and contributions of four physicians who have positively impacted the health of their communities. PHC proudly announces the winners of the 2022 PHC Leadership Awards:   

• Robert D. Sparks, M.D., Leadership Achievement Award

• Frank E. Staggers, Sr., M.D., Outstanding Ethnic Physician Organization Award
  Awardee: Cozzette Lyons-Jones, MD, MPH, FACP (Association of Black Women Physicians)    
• Adarsh S. Mahal, M.D., Access to Health Care and Disparities Award
  Awardee: Guillermo Valenzuela, M.D., MBA   
• Ethnic Physician Leadership Award 
  Awardee: David T. Cooke, M.D., FACS
