November 16,
2023By Physicians for a Healthy California Medical Student Grants
We are excited to announce the launch of the third cycle of the Physicians for a Healthy California (PHC) MedStudentsServe grant, a program dedicated to fostering the next generation of California’s physician leaders. The cycle will be accepting applications through January 9, 2024. This grant has already positively impacted over 2,700 individuals, demonstrating our commitment to enhancing the health and well-being of our local communities.
MedStudentsServe empowers California medical student organizations, clubs and group projects by supporting those that go beyond the traditional scope of medical education and community sponsorship. The focus is on initiatives that promote educational advancement, advocacy, community service and outreach programs targeting the health and well-being of our communities across the state.
Priority is given to projects that fill gaps in funding not typically provided by medical schools or local community sponsors. Past projects include family health fairs, student-run community health screenings, educational programs for youth, public health outreach initiatives, mentoring programs and health app development.
