COVID-19 Test to Treat Equity Grant awards millions to connect patients with treatment

The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) contracted with Physicians for a Healthy California (PHC) to administer the COVID-19 Test to Treat Equity Grant program, with the goal of more expeditiously connecting patients who test positive for COVID-19 with therapeutic treatment. Approximately $67 million was awarded to 175 safety-net providers and public health systems to improve COVID-19 testing and treatment in underserved communities across 45 counties.
Additionally, CDPH allocated approximately $5 million to the COVID-19 Treatments Community-Clinical Linkages Grant, with the goal of incentivizing COVID-19 Test to Treat Equity grantees to work collaboratively with community-based organization (CBO) and faith-based organization (FBO) partners to further the aims of increased equitable access to COVID-19 treatment. The application cycle was open from December 12, 2022, through January 9, 2023. Approximately $5 million was awarded to 68 COVID-19 Test to Treat Equity grantees and their CBO and FBO partners.
