CalMedForce application cycle closes September 15, 2023

The deadline for California graduate medical education (GME) programs to apply for CalMedForce grant funding is quickly approaching! On September 15, 2023, the latest CalMedForce application cycle will close. CalMedForce, in partnership with University of California, administers annual grants to support residency positions at GME programs throughout California.
Eligible GME programs must meet the following criteria to apply:
- Residency programs located in California
- Licensed as allopathic or osteopathic
- Provide primary care (family medicine, internal medicine, obstetrics/gynecology, or pediatrics) or emergency medicine
- Accredited by the Accreditation Council for Graduate Medical Education (ACGME) or will have formal accreditation by contract execution
- Serve medically underserved populations and areas
To date, CalMedForce has awarded $189 million for 500 awards that led to 966 new resident positions being funded. For more information and to apply before the September 15 deadline, visit our website.
