In July, the CalHealthCares loan repayment program announced the awardees for its fourth application cycle, with a total of 253 physicians and dentists chosen to receive a total of $64 million. Awardees comprise 218 physicians and 35 dentists, including one recipient of a Practice Support Grant.

The fifth application cycle is scheduled to run January 18 through March 3, 2023, with an allocation of $67 million in funds. CalHealthCares has been working diligently with its Advisory Council and the California Department of Health Care Services to evaluate and implement enhancements to the application, materials and process in preparation for the upcoming cycle.
